Women and girls are being exploited across the globe, day-in, day-out. Their freedom is stolen, and they are coerced into sexual exploitation, trapped in domestic servitude and forced into marriages.
An estimated 26.7 million women and girls are living in modern slavery – but together we can change this.
At Justice & Care, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with survivors – supporting their recoveries, amplifying their voices, and fighting for a world free from slavery and gender-based violence.
We’ve helped survivors speak out for the first time after exploitation – in courtrooms, in Parliament, and in communities. Their courage sparks change. Their stories give hope. And with your support, we can help even more women and girls to rebuild their lives and raise their voices.

Ruby's story
The moment Ruby* stopped a child marriage, everything changed. That act of courage lit a fire in her, showing her the power of her voice and the strength she carries as a survivor of modern slavery herself. Today, Ruby works as an Aftercare Case Facilitator with Justice & Care in Bangladesh, supporting fellow survivors on their journeys to recovery. She challenges stigma, raises awareness in her community, and even runs her own salon.

Mary's story
No one is above the law. This trust was powerfully demonstrated when a UN judge was jailed for modern slavery offences in a landmark case earlier this year. Behind the conviction was Mary*, a young woman trafficked from Uganda and forced into life as a maid and childminder. Mary refused to be silenced. Her bravery in giving evidence to police led to a six year prison sentence for her trafficker. With Justice & Care by her side, she is now rebuilding her life and helping to shine a light on the hidden crime of modern slavery. Find out more about Mary’s story here.

Sarah's story
Earlier this year, Sarah* stood at a Justice & Care event in UK Parliament and shared her story with MPs, charities and advocates. It was a powerful moment that placed lived experience at the heart of decision-making – exactly where it belongs. Mother-of-two Sarah came to the UK full of hope. Offered a job as a care worker, she imagined a future of opportunity, helping others while building a better life for her family. But the promises she was given didn’t match the reality.
